Once again, I must apologize as it’s been far too long between updates about our brave warrior, Emily and her sweet family.

We have so much to share… many ups and downs with the good, the bad, and the downright ugly.

For the past couple weeks, Emily has been experiencing increased pain in her right side and abdomen along with fatigue and nausea.

After six weeks of recovering from her craniotomy and tumor resection, Emily was finally able to begin treatment last week.

Just ten days ago, on Friday 5/28, Emily and Ben sat together in a sterile and unfamiliar exam room at UCSF with a few close family members joining them via Zoom, as they were given Emily’s brain tumor pathology results.

We are so excited to announce that Emily was discharged from UCSF on Thursday 5/20/21.

It was about 6:30 in the morning and Emily was on her way into the most frightening situation of her entire life. Yet, she was not going to let fear or uncertainty get in the way of her fighting spirit and determination.

Early in the morning on Tuesday 5/4, Emily was struggling through her basic morning routine and as she was stepping into the shower she could feel that something wasn't right.

Just a month ago, our Emily (only 35 years old) was feeling healthy and strong as she went about her daily life working from home, driving a mom taxi, and tending to her mini household farm.
