Holding out for a Miracle

Please forgive the brevity and bluntness of this post. We are broken and struggling to process the events of the past few days.

During the last three weeks, as Emily waited for insurance approval for the therapy that might have saved her life, her liver mass grew uncontrollably and the lymphoma spread to new areas of her body.

She was holding on and still fighting like hell and then things rapidly changed for the worse. On Sunday she was walking on her own and despite extreme pain and fatigue, she was carrying on as close to normal as she could. By Tuesday she was hallucinating, bed-bound, and no longer able to communicate her needs.

Despite tremendous efforts from countless teams of physicians at USCF, they have been unable to reverse the damages to Emily’s body systems and she will be returning home on hospice.

This sweet warrior family desperately needs our love and prayers in these final days.
