Love & Sincere Gratitude

Hello again friends and family,
We have lots of exciting things to tell you about our Emily!
But first, we would like to express our love and sincere gratitude to all of you for your continued support of Emily and the whole Lambert family. We have been amazed by all the creative and loving ways you guys have shown up and continue to show up for them!
We want to give some very special recognition to Robert Martin, aka Mopar Rob and his generous car loving community for helping to make some of the Lambert family’s dreams a reality. Rob voluntarily took on the project of reviving the Lambert’s 68 Chrysler, aka Fancy Car, so they can go cruising as a family. A tremendous amount of thought, energy, physical labor, time, and collaboration went into this project and soon Emily, Ben, Ivy, and Ivan will be able to cruise down to the drive-in-movies together. This is such a great gift as it will allow the Lambert’s to enjoy some fun activities away from home during Emily’s more vulnerable times of her treatment cycles. Thank you Rob! !
After six weeks of recovering from her craniotomy and tumor resection, Emily was finally able to begin treatment last week. She started chemotherapy and radiation to target the glioblastoma and soon she will also start an antineoplastic antibody-drug to target the lymphoma. A little later down the line, she will also begin Optune, a proton therapy to keep the glioblastoma at bay. Her treatment course will be long and complicated, but we have no doubt that she will get through it just as bravely and gracefully as she has triumphed through these first few months.
Emily and Ben have spent a great deal of time learning about alternative and experimental therapies for lymphoma and glioblastoma. They have been combating Emily’s lymphoma and glioblastoma with an open minded approach which incorporates various dietary, spiritual, and holistic therapies. Their approach is in line with the philosophy of Hippocrates, the father of medicine, as they fully intend to continue combining the power of wholefoods and faith with modern medicine to attack these diseases and to heal Emily’s body, mind, and spirit.
Ivy and Ivan have also been learning a lot and are enjoying being a part of this process. They participate in their mother’s healing by monitoring her vital signs, harvesting foods from their garden, grocery shopping, collecting fresh eggs every morning, cooking, preparing wholefood smoothies, and by sometimes accompanying Emily to medical appointments. Like the rest of us, they are “all in” and even though they are just as scared as we are, they continue to show a brave and strong face with each new day!
We received some really great news on Friday, 7/1/2021 after Emily had a followup PET scan. When comparing the new PET scan with previous MRI, PET, and CT scans, the radiologist reports that all of the lymphoma metastases have responded very well to treatment and some have even completely resolved. The mass on her liver has again dramatically reduced in size AND there is no new glioblastoma growth or brain inflammation.
While Emily’s immunsystem is still strong, she has been taking advantage of being able to go on family outings and welcoming visitors at home. Over the weekend she went to visit the Trujillo family, explored the Folsom Zoo, and participated in an Independence Day celebration! We are grateful for the past six weeks with Emily as she was between treatments and hospitalisations. Although she somehow manages to make it all look easy, moving forward into these six weeks of daily radiation and chemo has been tough on her and her family. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers!
Thank you ALL for taking the time to read about our Fearless Warrior. Our whole family is so very grateful for the continuation of love, prayers, and support we have been receiving!
We love you all, thank you ! !
